  • We will always seek your consent before starting any treatments and we want you to be absolutely clear on your treatment plan before you give your consent to proceed with any treatment.

  • Please do ask at any time any questions or any concerns you may have and we are always open to clarifying any points.

  • Our clinic are taking extra precautions in relation to Covid 19. Our team will be wearing masks and have our usual hygiene practices in place including equipment sanitisation.

  • If you would like to cancel an appointment which you have made this should be done more than 24 hours in advance to ensure you are not charged.

  • Your first appointment with an Osteopath is likely to take around 45 minutes to an hour.

During your Appointment

Diagnosis and Treatment

There will be two parts to the first appointment. These are "Listening and Examining" and second is "Diagnosis and Treatment".

Listening and Examining

  • We will listen to your problem and the symptoms which you are experiencing.

  • Ask questions about your general health, other medical issues you have and any medications which you are taking.

  • Examine you to help us diagnose the root cause of your symptoms.

  • We will ask you to make easy movements and ask you to perform simple stretches so that we can observe your mobility and your posture in varying positions.

  • Check for signs of serious conditions we as an Osteopath cannot treat and advise you to see your GP or seek hospital treatment in the case of an emergency.

  • After conducting a comprehensive examination if possible we will give you a precise diagnosis.

  • We will then discuss recommendations of specific treatment plans which would be suitable for you and your condition.

  • At the same time we will give you a clear breakdown of both the benefits and risks of the treatment which is being recommended for you.

  • We will recommend the likely number of sessions which will be needed for you to notice a specific improvement. Following agreement from you to proceed we will then arrange a suitable date and time for your next appointment.

  • Before you leave the appointment we will also offer self help measures and advice on exercises which may help your recovery, prevent any future occurrences or worsening of symptoms

  • As Osteopathy can be very hands on and some treatments can be very physical, after appointments it is not unusual to feel sore for 24-48 hours after having treatment.

  • We will explain to you during your treatment sessions what reaction you are likely to have.

  • If at any point you are concerned please do ask the advice of an Osteopath and in the event of an emergency always call 999 for emergency help.

  • At each of the subsequent sessions we will review your progress and discuss with you any recommended changes to your treatment plan.
